Detroit Moxie's Weekend Roundup

The holidays are over and the New Year has begun. A thick layer of snow blankets metro Detroit as temperatures plunge to those frigid, below freezing numbers that tempt you to hibernate.

Bundle up and get out there and enjoy Detroit and all the fun things to do in the city!

Weekend Roundup

1. The Moth StorySLAM - Whether you have a story to tell or just want to sit back and listen, Cliff Bell's is the place to be for a fabulous evening. The theme this month is outgrown. Tip: Get there early! January 3rd.

2. Anti-Freeze Blues Festival - It's so cold in the D, time to warm up with some blues at the Magic Bag in Ferndale. January 4—5.

3. Strangers on a Train - What happens when a crazy socialite and a tennis pro meet? Find out by seeing the classic Hitchcock film on the big screen at the Redford Theatre. And they have real butter on their popcorn! January 4—5.

4. Detroit Derby Girls - Missing hockey? Head to the Masonic Temple for a Derby Girls double header featuring the Grand Prix Madonna's, Devil's Night Dames, D-Funk Allstars and Pistolwhippers. January 5th.

5. Drive Table Tennis Social Club - "Enjoy life, play ping-pong, be happy." With a tag line like that, how could you not want to check this place out? They have 8 Olympic quality table tennis courts, a cafe, a shop and lounging area. Check out their Kickstarter campaign. Ongoing.
