Detroit Moxie's Weekend Roundup

I hate to break it to you but the holidays are upon us. Thanksgiving is just two weeks away and Christmas music and decorations can be seen and heard around town. For you purists who like your holidays one at time, I hear you. But this year—for some unknown reason—I’m ready for it and will embrace all the early holiday shenanigans.

In the meantime, get out there and enjoy Detroit.

Weekend Roundup

1. Hidden Treasures: An Experiment - The Detroit Institute of Arts have solved the mysteries behind 8 of their hidden treasures. They want visitors to vote on which of the stories are most interesting to them for a future exhibit. Through March 3, 2013.

2. Pewabic Pottery Earthy Treasures show - This annual exhibition is the perfect kick-off to holiday shopping. Support our local ceramic arts organization! November 9—December 30.

3. Lost Mariners Remembrance - Learn about and remember the lost mariners of the Great Lakes at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle. November 10th.

4. Cash Mob at Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe - Celebrate (finally!) the opening of this new gourmet grocery store in Midtown. The UPS Store is donating 80 $25 gift cards to be used at the shop! November 10th.

5. Stratford Presents: The Tempest - The Stratford Theatre Festivals' 2010 production starring Christopher Plummer as Prospero will be shown at the Detroit Film Theatre. November 11th.

Bonus: Eastside Derby Girls
