Weekend Roundup

1. DIY Street Fair - Celebrate the do-it-yourself attitude with artists, crafters, musicians, beer and food! This Ferndale fest is one of my favorite events of the year. September 13—15.

2. Global Fridays - Head over to the Arab American National Museum for Cheick Hamala Diabate (Malian griot), part of the Concert of Colors Series. Enjoy a blend of music and storytelling from one of Mali’s most storied musical families. September 13th.

3. The Music Man - The gorgeous Redford Theatre will show this classic starring Shirley Jones on the big screen and Ms. Jones will be there in person. September 13—15.

4. St. Jerome's Laneway Festival - Australia's indie music festival makes its U.S. debut at Meadow Brook Music Festival. Featuring Matthew Dear, Savages, Frightened Rabbit, the Detroit Party Marching Band and more! September 14th.

5. 2013 Victorian Festival - Step back in time as Northville celebrates its history and heritage with a parade, crafts, vintage baseball, hot air balloon rides and a petting farm. September 13—15.
