About Me

Hi ya. I’m Becks Davis and I was born and bred in the suburbs of Detroit. First, in Warren and then Bloomfield Hills. I left for college when I was 17 and didn’t return to Detroit until I was 30. I wasn't actually in college all that time. I went to Marquette University in Milwaukee and then moved to Chicago two years after I graduated. I came back to Metro Detroit for a few years but I never ventured out of my comfort zone. If it wasn’t in Birmingham, Bloomfield, or Troy, I probably missed it.

Then, I took a drastically different approach to life and decided to travel around the United Kingdom for 5 weeks. That was March and April of 2003. On that fantastic journey, I met my husband in a pub in London, and then moved to England. (The courtship was much longer than that sentence.)

I had a lovely time in England and wouldn't trade it for the world. I did find myself, however, sitting in my home on the Southern coast of England, the Jurassic coast, on my computer pining for Detroit. Yeah, I know, but I did, I pined. And yes, it is the Jurassic coast. Now, I’m back and I want to explore everything I missed before, and I really I missed everything. I’m excited to explore this city and the community with my husband and anyone else who would like to join me on this journey.
